Stitches Stay Put
You know what I love about needlepoint? It stays done. Everything I do as mom, all day long, is continually undone. And that’s fine. That’s how it’s supposed to be. But it sure is nice to sit down, put in some stitches, and watch them progress into a completed piece. I can hold the work in my hand and admire the space I carved out for myself. A tangible reprieve and balance to my day.
And I think this applies to all humans, not just moms — always more laundry, more dishes, more emails, more doctor appts, more piling up on the to-do list…but those stitches stay put.
