6 1/4" x 3 1/4" design, 8" x 12" canvas
"Preworked" or "prestitched" is a style of needlepoint in which the primary design has already been done, leaving the meditative and uncomplicated background for the stitcher to complete themselves. Many times these canvases are larger and originally intended for chairs or benches. The type of canvas is called "Penelope" cloth and it is not stiff like the typical kind you may be used to. The way these are best stitched ("best" as in enjoyment, not technicality) is to use the "scooping" method, so your hand stays on top of the canvas the entire time. It is sooo relaxing.
Simply find some DMC or Appleton or any kind of tapestry wool, google "scooping" (or DM me!), and off you float into needlepoint bliss of a new kind!
